i don't think it's an absolute at all... many people cannot find this elusive *perfect* partner because it's so hard to tell with too many people in the world if one is completely right for you. i believe there may be twin flames and soul mates but i'm questioning the validity of these concepts as well because i'm starting to wonder how much of what we THINK is true is actually true at all.<br />
<br />
i am not experiencing bliss with my current partner, yet it's possible for us to at times... *sigh* i really don't know if i want to believe in such a fairy-tale concept, it's rather hurtful when it doesn't happen time and time again.

What'd you DO,<br />
GET ON HERE TO BRAG?<br />
NO SUCH THING as "Marital BLISS"<br />
except in dime novels & soap operas.<br />
<br />
If you haven't learned this fact yet, YOU WILL.<br />
<br />
If ONE partner is blissfully happy then its a<br />
ONE-SIDED RELATIONSHIP, because ONE<br />
of you has to be doing the SACRIFICING to<br />
ensure the OTHER'S "BLISS".<br />
<br />
Lots of guys come to me for sex, (I'm Gay),<br />
because their selfish wives are so "blissfully<br />
happy" they forget their man needs LOVE.<br />
Their IGNORANCE is the bliss that leads<br />
the men astray.

I was like what do you mean and then you said that you were gay and I was like ohhhh! Well marital bliss takes two, a man and a woman. It don't get any better than that.

I believe that it would take complete honesty -- of both ourselves and our potential partners -- shared vision, values, a moral compass that actually works and realistic expectations. Most people who wed will refuse to deliver on all of these points, but I've witness many marriages in my family where they experice true bliss -- for decades. It ain't all perfect or rosy all of the time, but boy do their married lives seem fulfilling.

for me, that would mean that I would either have to relocate or lobby hard, hard, hard for my current state (in the bible belt) to pass legislation to legalize my right to marry

Mine is more like a new plot for Hangover III, I would miss the marriage and she'd have to break me out of a Turkish prison.
