I'd be very shocked, since I don't think she wants to be a man. But it would be a farewell.
I met a couple to whom this had happened, some years back through my work. Victor and Pam had become Victoria and Pam, and they were going through the process of splitting up when I knew them. It was all very sad, actually. I rather fancied Pam, as it happens, who no longer wanted a relationship with the woman that her man had become. (real names throughout, by the way).
