Resolved Question

What would you do if your parents?

were so unfair to you, they are upset with your grades, and they compare you to your brothers, saying you should be making perfect grades like them, BUT, your content you already know what you want, you have always known since you were a very small kid, that you wanted a career in cosmetology, AND its important for you to uphold your looks, but they refused to get your hair and nails done.

What would you do?

If you like cosmetology so much you should take some time to practice on yourself. Just because you "don't have a career yet, duh" doesn't mean you should suck at it before you go off to cosmetology school--or you'll be laughed at when you go. Try to learn something.

Did you know that if you go to a REAL, accredited school of cosmetology you have to take anatomy classes and make good grades and you also take chemistry classes? Did you know that youngling? I just found out recently, and was surprised but those are courses you will have to take.

I would be more grateful for them supporting me all these years and trying to guide me to adulthood.

I'd ask them if you improved your graded and focused on your education, would they reward you with a trip to the salon to get your hair and nails done.

Your parents want you do to your best in school and they are concerned when they see you falling behind in your grades. You will need good grades to graduate and to continue on in your education. If you want to go to cosmetology school you will need to have the grades and you will need to have good study habits. It isn't a walk in the park... you will have to study hard, pass test, know some chemistry along with an array of other subjects. So study hard now, earn good grades and then you will earn the respect of your parents!! You can show your parents that you are a responsible kid by doing your job.. and right now your job is school and good grades. This "Im better then everyone" attitude isn't going to get you very far in life... and it certainly isn't going to win the approval of your parents or even your friends, so let that go and instead open up your notebook and your text book and get studying!!!
:D

ok, maybe a silly question... What if your cosmetology doesnt work out for some reason, if you have no education with good grades, what do you have to fall back on ? Do you have such little ambition that, that is ALL you want to be? If you have good grades you will be able to branch out into a bigger and better profession. Earn more money and be better enabled to be independant. With good grades and a better education you could even run you own business one day... or do you want to be working for someone else your entire life?

Young people like you dont realise how valuable your education is NOW. Most times you cannot go back & fix it, when you graduate.. then it's too late. Your parents have lived longer than you, they've made mistakes, they only want what is best for you and realise what a good education and grades actually means. Only once you reach your 30+years, will you realise the value of your parents knowledge.

look as far as grades go I said to my kids just do the best you can, what more can you ask?

nothing wrong with cosmetology, but have you thought of adding hairdressing to it as well. Always work for good hairdressers, it is work you can do from home as well.

it's tough but go with the flow. don't pay attention to people who detract from you dreams. you won't be with them forever even though it feels that way.

as far as you future career: remember to wear very good shoes as you may have leg problems later in life (sorry if that sounded like a mom, i am one)

i'll even let you practice on my, promise :)
