Resolved Question

What would you do?

You've had a night out drinking, and have driven to the centre of town for greasy food (the only acceptable food when blind drunk). One of your closest friends gets out of the car, and suddenly realizes that they're too drunk/sick to drive home.

Home is about an hour's walk (that's allowing time for everyone's drunkeness). You and a mate agree to stay with said sick/drunk friend and walk them home. It takes 20mins to walk that friend a block, and across a road, in which time you've been yelled at by several passers-by to leave her alone, because "she clearly doesn't want" you help, and the cops have driven slowly past a few times, watching your progress.

Some random stranger drives past, takes pity on you and offers to drive you back home ... by this point your sick/drunk friend is happy to get back in a car, and is actually starting to get abusive towards you and your mate for caring and trying to make sure she makes it home.
We were more offended by the yelling strangers

get in the car with the drunk friend and ignore thier rants. afterall they are drunk. I would choose friends that don't get drunk in the future.

If you don't like your friend's behavior when they are drunk, don't drink with them, but you can't judge their behavior under the influence.

Hmmm...trust your instincts and text their registration to someone if you have to...I would get dropped off close to home maybe,..but not at my home...I would not be happy to see her get in the car alone..However if people are abusive/aggressive and demand their rights,..then its hardly your fault if it all goes horribly wrong...I would take their rego though...Possibly even ask for i.d.
After that i would avoid people like that...especially when its home-time..

I would have asked the cops to drive her home, because you don't know the stranger that offered to give you a lift. They could have not so nice motives.

I would have called a cab and left the car... I have done it many times.. cheeper than a DUI. I am not a mean drunk, I hate partying with people like that. Buzz Kill.
