No question to ask, just seen this story in some women I have dated, not good, just staying to avoid moving and wanting you to give them an alternative. If you accept, I always felt it would continue forever. Met a beautiful young lady on a trip once, she was from Phoenix, and was heading to Hawaii to marry a man she did not love, at the end of the flight as I was leaving, she said take me with you, give me an alternative to a future I don't want. I said I can't, you are not solving the problem which put you in this position, and I would not be helping solve it either. If I were to tell you grab your bags, we are getting off, it would be another decision you failed to make, and I would likely wind up the next person you wanted away from.

This guy has to make his own decision for his own reasons, you can't give him an answer or a reason to change horses, he 'has' to do that for himself and face the uncertain future with the grit he has or he is not worth being with. Not trying to be hard, just realistic, what will happen when a hard problem occurs.
