I would probably start sacrificing them one by one to the dark lord Beelzebub.

WARNING BIBLE ANSWER!!!!!!!!!!!!

According to the the Bible "All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." We do not meet his standard of perfection. "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ His Son." Everyone is already condemend to spend eternity in hell, if for nothing else than the rejection of God himself. So without the attoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ and your simple acceptance of it, you will stand alone before God and give account of why you rejected him and why your life was not lived perfectly as he said you should. Just so you know no one can, that is why we have Jesus.
So you not being religious at all does not change how they see the way things are according to God's word. So yes no matter what you believe or think, they see you as on your way to hell forever. It is not about how good or bad you are, but about what you did with God's only begotten son Jesus. Who bleed and died for the penalty of your sins and who rose again to overcome death for you. But you like so many reject this and therefore take the penality of your life and actions upon yourself. I am sorry if this seems a might bit harsh. It is just the way it is.

That's the story of my life right there.
Being Jewish and painting your nails a dark color aren't acceptable where I live.

What I did was start beating peoples a$$.

I'd just laugh at the narrow-minded fools and then get on with enjoying my life.

What others think of you is not your business...

well..i know it is easy to say but in small towns people could be weird...and everybody is into each others business. You cannot change people. you can only change how to react to them. Do not drive yourself crazy by trying to defend yourself...waste of time...the next "big thing" in town will come and they will focus on someone else.

I don't care about their meaningless statement. The hellish or heavenly condition of my soul is not made by their accusation, but by my own thoughts, speeches and actions.
I also pray for their learning and progress.

They believe that probably because that's the only view of the world they'll accept. Being "religionless" is just as bad as worshipping the Devil, it's no difference to them and no amount of explaining is going to change their mind. (I learned this from the fundamentalists I've studied the Bible with -- they are amazingly dead-set in their beliefs.)

What could I do but put up with it? I'd definitely make it a priority to leave that place as soon as I could.

I'd think that half my town needed a hobby, and would inform them of this opinion every time they decided to remark on the condition of my soul.
