    Dostoevsky. By the time I got done reading Crime and Punishment, I was about ready to do myself in.

    Wilfred Owen...First World War poetry is just too harrowing for me although I do understand the profound nature of the writing.

    Well the first person who comes to mind is the poet/prose writer Dylan Thomas for some reason his poems i find very dark, and i have heard others say the same thing but none the less some of them are good.

    I can't remember the name of the guy who wrote The Road, but I vote for him. That book made me feel terrible!

    Not one author, but that whole genre of terrible childhood stories, i so admire the way the victims survived, but why do we want to be so angry and upset reading their awful stories?

    What was the name of that Russian guy who wrote The Brothers Karamazov? I can never remember if that was Dostoevsky or that other famous Russian nihilist whose name I can't remember at the moment. That was one dreary book.
