In the good old days, when my parents were still married, the kids were young, and my dad was alive...we would all have a big lunch together, the kids would hunt eggs and it was just a very happy time. Now, my parents are divorced, my dad passed away nearly 5 years ago, and my kids are grown.....there are no traditions anymore. How I miss the good old days. :(

Our hobby is painting Easter eggs in beautiful bright colors. Every year around April, though, stupid, greedy humans, like some kind of modern day Gestapo, ransack the fields we call our homes and steal our precious collectibles.

Long ago, we learned not to keep our eggs in our burrows since those were the first places the thieving humans looked. For centuries now, we have scattered and concealed our eggs in the yards near the humans' homes thinking these would be the last place they'd ever look. The reason being it's better to spread them all out so that some may live instead of keeping them all in one place and risk losing all of them.

Well, this year is going to be different. We intend to finally strike back at the humans who have pilfered our precious colored eggs for so long by placing egg-shaped IEDs among the tall grasses and bushes. This will be an Easter the humans will never forget. This year we shall have VENGEANCE!

Eating chili dogs for our Easter dinner. The Easter I was baptized into the Catholic church, we were to go to a big Easter lunch buffet at a local hotel with friends. It was totally crazy. Too many people. Too much noise. We looked at each other and decided this was not the right way to celebrate the holiday. Starving, we went to the closest grocery store to find something to make for our Easter meal. Chili dogs sounded really good, so that's what we bought.

It's been our family tradition ever since.
