In a display of sheer indifference to the fate of civilians bearing the brunt of Israel’s military siege of Gaza, the Canadian government rejected last week a proposal to bring 100 badly wounded Gaza children to Canada for medical treatment. The decision to bury the proposal was made by the federal Conservative government of Stephen Harper after several hospitals in Ontario had volunteered to take the children with the stated support of Ontario’s provincial government.

Harper's a robot. He has no feelings except programmed fear, anger, and satisfaction at accomplishing his task - which is crushing the enemies of his corporate masters. ******* drone.

Cowardice and stupidity

Or even worse.

Best Answer

Sucking up to the military empire to the south to gain access to the corporate welfare scheme called military procurement.

The real axis of evil is fast becoming US / Israel / Canada. I wonder how Canadians feel about their government putting them firmly in that bracket ?

Best Answer

Israel. This is a pretty obvious answer.

Best Answer

They did not want to be apart of any child abuse by sending them back to be Hamas fighters or tunnel diggers.

Best Answer

Are you really as stupid as you sound ?

Best Answer

Is the mirror your talking to clean?

Best Answer

I guess failing to use an apostrophy when you actually meant *you're* kinda answers my question just as much as your puerile retort does.

Best Answer

Common sense is behind the Canadian position. The so-called "suffering" is self imposed by the Palestinians. If they kicked Hamas out and stopped lobbing missiles at Israel it would end.

Best Answer

Thanks for not answering the question , as usual. The non-stop **** that pours out of your mouth is really becoming tiresome now.

Best Answer

You asked what was behind what you referred to as the Canadian Government's callous indifference. I answered:"Common sense". Try to read a response before you utter your hate.

Best Answer

Ok then , please elaborate and tell me how 'common sense' is an answer.

First, the mess in the Gaza ***** is not a Canadian problem. Second, Hamas should have thought about the probability of civilian casualties before they started this mess. Thirdly, the easier you make life for terrorists, the longer they continue their terror. It is common sense that Canada has not responsibility in this matter and should not waste its taxpayers' money getting involved. If you want to financially support what you feel is a valid cause, then do so... just don't expect others to.

The question is about a strictly humanitarian mission to treat 100 badly injured and totally innocent children. Without resorting to your usual diatribe about Hamas / Terrorism / Blah Blah Blah , what possible reasons would the Canadian govt. have in overruling such an initiative by several hospitals and funded provincially ?

Best Answer

I have no problem with you dealing with what you deem to be a humanitarian mission. The problem is when you want to use taxpayer funds to support your idea of something that taxpayers should not be paying for. If you feel so strongly about this, get some people together, raise the money and pay for the supplies and transportation. Contrary to what you believe, Palestinian children are not entitled to Canadian tax dollars.

Best Answer

Thanks again for not answering.

Best Answer

I answered, but since you fail to see the issue, let me spell it out for you. The proposed "mission" was to be financed with taxpayer dollars. That is not what the vast majority of Canadians pay taxes for. The government can control what it allows taxes to be spent on.

What if they were christian children from Iraq ?

Best Answer

It makes no difference. Do you feel that somehow Christian children deserve more than non-Christian children?

Best Answer

Yes it does . Are you suggesting the response would have been the same ?

Best Answer

I am suggesting that the response should have been the same. A great portion of the "humanitarian aid" provided over the last few years went to build the tunnels they dug and lined with UN supplies concrete. Again, id you want to give your money away for such things, please do so. Just don't tell others that they should.

And back to Hamas / Terrorism / Blah Blah Blah ........ change the record will you.

Do you actually know who the parties are in the conflict? Or are you like so many people who are hiding their heads in the sand from the real issues? War is war... people die. War is war, there is always collateral damage and death.

Only the US will allow itself to be continually drawn into the conflict.
