I don't think I was ever really a kid. I've always acted like I do now.

When I was a kid, I was very sensible, often overwhelmed by feelings, crying often... Now I feel completely detached from the world, from people, and barely have feelings, like if a carapace was built around my heart. Not sure which one is the best.

I played outside, I read books, I was actually bored and I had to solve my own boredom. Talking on the phone you were afforded very little privacy, we didn't have our own personal phone but I can still hear my mother saying "It's not like the phone is attached to your ear!" lol little did she know! We played with the neighbors, rode our bikes without helmets. We could walk places without fear of being taken or hurt. we were judged less by what designer brand of clothes we wore. When we watched tv we had like 7 stations, ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS and a few others I think. And we had to GET UP to change the channel. We had to make our meals, they didn't come pre prepared....life was just better back then. Though I think that technology is wonderful it's just how it's misused that's bad.

A lot! There were no: cell phones, microwave ovens, cable TV, Internet, and home computers. Gasoline was really cheap. The World seemed like a safer place.

My daughter has way more homework than I ever did. Kids are also over-scheduled. When I was young, we had a lot of time to figure out our own way. And it didn't seem like there were as many child predators.

Either you're really sweet and saw that I'm trans and you're saying nice things or you didn't see my gender :) Didn't start presenting as a girl until last year!

Pretty much everything is different now.Other than the world being slightly more accepting now, I don't see things as better.

This was easy to answer because when I was a kid back in the early 60's the world seemed to be a much safer place. Children could play outside without the fear of being kidnapped, American's seemed more patriotic, there wasn't such a thing as being polictically correct. Most of all there it wasn't even heard of that somehow if you sent your child to school that an insane person might break in and kill them.
