My mother taught me to be careful what I tell my children and not pass on things to them that are hurtful. Sad thing is I learnt this the hard way with my mother telling me every nasty thing my sister or anyone else had to say about me.

My father thought me to keep my word, & to save up for what I want and need - not use credit. He also thought me to mind my reputation because it always follows you.

Although my mom and i dont always get along and we often disagree, she has taught me that God is the King of all Kings. She has led me in the right direction and even though i have walked off the path a few or more times, she has always brought me right back and showed me that i should have Faith in GOD and that he is the one in the end that cares about me even when it seems like no one else does.

Don't count on life to take care of you. Life is tough, rough and long. Moment of happiness are surrounded by long periods of suffering, stress and hardship. Even if you work, pray and do everything possible to take care of the people you love they will eventually leave you or disapoint you. The only true blessing in life is death.
