Texting and messaging is unproductive, only a trend, and a waste of time. Get to know a real person in person. Use the phone to TALK.

look for ways to spend time with adults who aren't authority figures: a job, volunteering, community groups, etc.
you'll learn more about growing up from real grownups than you ever will from people who have never done it before.

Learn as if you were to live forever, live as if you would die tomorrow.
Laugh often, love much and don't sweat the small stuff--and in the end, its all small stuff.
Live as if there is a God, even at the times you don't believe in Him.
Be your own best friend.
Don't try to get old too fast...you'll get there all too soon and you can never go back.
Spend as much time with real people as you do internet people.
Make sure you respect the people's whose advice you are taking, BEFORE you take their advice. ;)

Embrace who you are, don't dwell on what others think of you, never change yourself for anybody else, seek out friends who appreciate, support you and love you for who you are, never ever give up on yourself and what you believe in, and stand by your choices never do things out of need for acceptance because your actions end up defining who you are and what you'll become

Don't worry about the drama in your life right now, because what may seem important now won't matter in a few years at all. Focus on your education, because you can either work really hard for the next few years and set yourself up for a comfortable life for the next 40 years, or you can slack off now and then work like a dog for the next 40 years with little to show for it.

Don't be as stupid as I was when I was a teenager. I'm kind of surprised I survived.
