I'm not sure it was meant as advice, though ;)

Don't Ever solicit advice from Strangers who have no dog in your question's fight (aka don't ask advice of a person who has no interest in the outcome of your request).

Seriously, you have to weigh any advice, from friend, stranger, or foe... decide if it is in Their best interest to give you good advice, or are they potentially manipulating you since they know you are vulnerable.

And always remember, as a wise man once said... Always ask for a Second Opinion if the outcome involves surgery; needles and permanent ink; or a long-term and legally-binding relationship, which may cost you money to get out of.

Never leave anything that can be used against you by anyone. This is my own version of what my mom told me way back in 7th grade when she found my attempts to copy her signature for excuses to miss school.

She said " Never leave anything in writing you don't want anyone to find "
