Well, myself personally I try to play games that really require the mind. I play video games that allow you to change the puzzle level to the most difficult setting. My favorite series is Silent Hill, with focus on the first four games. Or I play games that require specific tasks to be done that will progress the game and alter the storyline dramatically as in Mass Effect. Anything that engrosses the mind.

Anything but alcohol...it will get you extremely sick.

If your friend doesn't do video games she can try creating music lists, going out with the girls and having a movie marathon whilst eating ice cream by the bucketful. If she has a job she can get her mind absorbed by that until the heart heals. The best you can do for her is offer your shoulder and a sympathetic ear. In time, we all hope, her heart will mend and she will be happy and back to herself. Also...rebounding an another guy could be bad...so...no guys for a bit unless they are pretty close and not interested in her pants. A eunuch works best.
