I wish I could whisper in the ear of every woman with insomnia to help them sleep at night. My friend has it too.

a drink called Cal-Mag. It a powder you by in any health food store. It is calcium and magnesium... Take it an hour or two before bed. Magnesium helps calm the nervous system, helping you sleep.

    A mallet to the head!
No seriously, I wish I knew. I have had insomnia for years and have tried various remedies, including prescribed tablets without success. Its frustrating as hell, but then I guess you know that.
    Not much help. Sorry.

Drink warm milk or tea (non-caffinated, duh). You'll begin to feel it soon enough.

It depends on the origin of the insomnia I guess...
I'm not very knowledgeable about it... but I guess lose some stress if you have any and try to calm the mind

I was a skeptic at first, and I have to admit it took me a while to get it. But now it is amazing. I'm in a group, and I often fall asleep during practice. Wiki link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mindfulness
