Whats the best memory you have of your family growing up?

Have loads, but the most vivid is when we went for a day out at Rivington Pike & a goat ate my new frilly ankle socks. I was heartbroke at the time, but i can laugh about it now. My best memory is probably of my first Holy Communion; my nana made a big buffet and we had a garden party. Many of my aunties, uncles and cousins were there & it was a lovely day. One more is from around 1982ish - my cousin was a Royal Marine commando & when he returned from the Falklands, my auntie Syl, his mum threw a welcome home party in her garden. There was bunting everywhere & i remember playing with Gats, their tortoise. I remember my auntie telling me he was lonely since his friend died ( they had another tortoise with one eye, Nelson, who had a penchant for great escapes. He was so bad, my uncle painted their address on his shell! Unfortunately, he was crushed by a bin wagon one morning after doing his Houdini act again & Nelson was no more).
Got loads of memories, but the weirdest has to be when my nana got herself a pig's head to make brawn and didn't have a pan big enough. My auntie Syl had a new twintub washing machine and they ended up boiling it in the twin tub! My uncle Stan then cut off the pig's ears, sewed them onto a bobble hat, then went to the pub wearing it as a joke!
Looking back, my family were a bit mad - and i've not even mentioned the time when my nana showed me how to skin a rabbit - EEK! Can't hear the song 'Bright eyes' without filling up....LOL

Sad, but True. I really have none. All I remember is the extreme abuse and worrying about surviving. I did survive and now work with abused Children.

I have very few memories of my childhood. The most vivid memories I have are my baby brother dying when I was 4.

I REALLY MISS THAT!!

no specific day or time...but the 5 of us being together and happy, and everyone having fun.

Registration day for when I was moving into boarding school. Both of my parents were supportive of it, and, for a brief moment in time, were both happy with me. Hell, they even stood in the same room together without getting in a fight.

I was taking my baby grandson on a walk and we went through the woods in my neighborhood...it took me back to my childhood so strongly, I could almost feel like I did as a kid when me and my big brothers would go off in the woods and build forts. Sometimes we would go home and get our sandwiches and kool aid and take it all back to the fort. I had such a great childhood, my brothers were the best to hang out with.

When my mom and step dad would take us camping. My two sisters and I usually argued all the time, but not then for some reason everyone got along every time we went camping and fishing.
