What's the best supplement to treat depression (hopefully one i haven't tried yet)?

I've tried most of the standard supplements, 5-htp, SAM-e, can't take St. John's Wort because i'm on Wellbutrin. Are there any other supplements people have used that have been TRULY effective for you? I have treatment resistent depression and i'm desperate!

Sunshine and exercise will work wonders.

Have Gratitude for what you do have.
Make Goals, at least identify what you want
Doing things you haven't tried before -- take risks! break patterns and routine, wake an hour earlier than normal. Do something silly, and laugh. Find positive friends just to hang out with.
find enjoyment in simple things such as taking time to enjoy a meal.
think of what your ideal life would be like, and incorporate pieces of that in your life each day.
Be creative! paint a picture, listen to music, write, or just enjoy the expressions of art from others.

Change your room up, organize things better and keep things tidy. Move around furniture, anything to enliven your surroundings.

Just as you wake up in the morning, while still lying in bed, imagine the things that you want, and want to experience. See yourself traveling, eating at a restaurant with friends, spending time at the beach. And if you are really excited to make these things into a reality, make a plan starting with what actionable steps you can take Today and each day, that will eventually lead to this achievement. (example, going on a road trip, see what you need to do this, probably money, find a simple way to start saving money and plan the trip itself.)

    hope these help, goodluck! :]

Cigarettes. It doesn't work great, but it takes the edge off.

How big a dose of 5-HTP did you use? 50 or 100mg does well for some. Others need around 1000mg. You do need to cover the base of fish oil. Read Barry Sears' Omega 3 book. Whether it resolves depression for you or not you need to be on it. But there is a significant link between depression and levels of EPA and DHA.

First off, don't expect a cure because you'll never wake up one morning a different person taking an anti-depressant. However cool that would be, things don't work like that, and seeing as you've tested many different kinds.
My view on the flower supplement Saint John Wort, less strong, it works like a mood stabilizer, releases tension and nervousness, and is organic and not chemically made. I have been taking it recently and obviously still have my down days, that's absolutely natural, but I feel lighter, happier-I'm letting myself BE happy, and am less prone to sit and do nothing/wallow all day. Research pros and cons on all meds answered here.

~And read what Azuresky has written. THAT is a beautiful way of changing your state of mind into one of control and content.

The best way to treat depression is to throw away the drugs, change your circle of friends and your job and recreation habits. Get off the computer, go out of the house and interact with living happy people.

Lack of B vitamins can lead to depression I hear. I'd try Berocca. Also get thyroid checked if you haven't already.

I'd forget supplements and go EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique).

It's free, so easy that you can learn it in just minutes, is self applied and there are many wonderful sites to get you started.

One I'd personally recommend is to look up Lindsay Kenny. Her site shows a free demo video of how to do it (shows how simple and quick it is to do) and gives you a free downloadable starter pack with all you need to get working with it.

People have been cured of chronic depression in a day, hours and even minutes.

There is a youtube video called Try It On Everything - just people talking about what it did for them and is clinically proven to work.

    Good luck :)
