heat compress on your abdomen and put yourself in a fetal position or do some diversional activities (at tolerable level) because sometimes pain intense when you do nothing. try not to depend on meds (if you can't really tolerate the pain). : )

i get horrible cramps every month and it sucks SO MUCH. I have tried many things!! If your period is pretty regular, and you think you know when you start PMSing but aren't menstruating yet, I'd say take an ibuprofen 2 or 3 times a day before you actually start your period so it builds up. Sometimes when your cramps are already in full swing it's harder for the medicine to take effect. Definitely do ibuprofen and not acetaminophen, because the former is used to help with swelling as well as pain and the latter is not.
yeah what the other people said about heat is essential as well.

And i know it's hard to even MOVE when you have cramps, but exercise really does help. Hot showers are good.
I understand what you mean about it being weird for you to talk to your dad, but he's your dad and he loves you! If you act like it's no big deal he probably will too.
