It was −27°F on January 20, 1985. It was the lowest recorded temperature in Chicago to date. I was in college and I nearly froze my butt off walking across the campus to my home.

Let's see, about -35F. Wind chill was about 30 degrees colder than that. Just walked across the street to hang out with a friend for a couple of hours. Brrrrr That was in North Dakota

Around 0-15 degrees Fahrenheit.
