It was −27°F on January 20, 1985. It was the lowest recorded temperature in Chicago to date. I was in college and I nearly froze my butt off walking across the campus to my home.

-30F with windchills not sure of but it turned milk to slush in about 5 minutes so however cold that was
-50 f. I wasn't out in it for very long at all. It was in the Walowa Mountains near Enterprise Oregon.
