Being stuck in a lonely marriage just feels dead. When you are single there is hope for a new chance.

Well in being single you can date and perhaps you will get the chance of meeting, co-habitating with, or marrying someone that is decent and compatible with your life and lifestyle. In being married and lonely your stuck with a idiot that thinks its hysterially funny to fart in a elevator full of little people.

Since I am married and feel lonely most of the time....I'd say married lonely. At least being single you have a better oppertunity to change the situation. Being married lonely only makes me feel stuck!

I would rather be lonely, single....

I am lonely, married right now, and have been for years.....It stinks....If you are single, there's a good reason why you feel lonely, because no one is there...

When you are married, the person is right there, lying next to you.....yet not there....if that makes any sense to you....(I know marrieds in the same boat, will relate)...It isn't just a loneliness....it hurts, too.

Lonely is flat out lonely. I have been lonely single and married.
Either way it sucks.
Days seem to short and night to long. I have now finally gotten hit with reality.
I am going to be responible for my own happiness. When your lonely you start to dought yourself, as if there is something wrong with me.
Its them and the sooner you realize it the better off you are.

It's just as easy to be lonely when you're married as when your single. But that's just my biased opinion.

Not much. If your husband doesn't appreciate you it's no better than being alone and unloved. Except for the financial security, there's no reason to stay.

Loneliness is the same in either situation. The only difference being; what you can do to about it.

loneliness sucks either way you go. Being single and lonely is probably the better of both demons.

The difference is that while a single person has a very rational reason for why they are not with someone physically or emotionally, a married person who is lonely has managed to sacrifice one for the other and realized that the end result is no different than yearning for a woman you love in a truck stop diner full of people.
If you are lonely in a marriage do yourself a HUGE favor. Go down the hall and sit down and explain POINT BLANK what you feel. Ask for their feelings, ask for the reasons they have, ask for information, and ask for the truth back. THEN wait for one of two things to happen. Either you now have new insight to what you may be doing to cause the loneliness, or you have new insight to what you require as more important.

Stay...or go....but do it for what you need to feel.
