for me they mostly happened at nite, I'd wake up my heart would be pounding, I would be sweating profusely, sometimes breathing would be difficult and my mind would be racing. It might have been induced by something as simple as thinking you forgot to turn off a light in the house but for some reason my mind would make it seem as if it was a life or death mistake. Its just a crushing feeling of dread. They gave me xanax for it which helped with the attacks at nite , but made me feel like a zombie during the day. Eventually my attacks went away, thank god. Hopefully your bf finds an answer to his anxiety, its a ***** having them.

Depends on the type, in general it sucks. I have night terrors and I will awake with a full blow attack.
