Ok there's this movie [Japanese] called Audition; it really isn't THAT scary BUT it freaked me out BECAUSE at the time I knew a girl that looked just like the villain in the movie and acted JUST LIKE THE VILLAIN IN THE MOVIE!

and there's a scene in the movie where the girl has a man inside a sac of rice whom she'd feed him like a dog! YEAH THAT WAS CREEPY!

Samara coming out of the TV screen in the American remake of The Ring was pretty intense when I saw it in theatres, but sadly there's no way to re-create that feeling on the small screen after it's become a cliché. Also, several bits in Audition were really freaky, like the trash bag in the kitchen.
Hmm... let's see... I've seen a lot of horror films, but not many have genuinely scared me... Ah! That's it. There's one in Ju-On, I think the second film, where... I can't even go into it without spoiling a lot. But basically all of these little things in the film add up and suddenly all hell breaks loose. It was SO well done, it very genuinely creeped me out.
