What's wrong with the big 4 TV networks? Why are the New Year's Day bowl games on ESPN instead of them?

It seems like the broadcast networks are abandoning major sports to cable. ABC quit Monday night football. NBC let ESPN outbid it for Wimbledon. The first round of baseball playoffs is on cable. Do they think I'd rather watch one of their insipid reality shows than watch major sports? Since I have no use for sitcoms and reality shows and consider the broadcast newscasts little more than partisan propaganda, sports was pretty much the last thing left to draw me to the big 4 networks. But they seem to be letting that go. They're losing me as they do that.

    The old guard networks are soooooo 20th century. Nobody watches them any more.

    I don't watch them. I don't need their men-are-stupid sitcoms or their "reality" shows.

    Don't they have more $$ than ESPN? Why do they let ESPN outbid them? It's like they've decided to tell the male viewer to go to hell.

    It all started with those schmuck WW2 reporters like Brinkley and Cronkite, pompous bastids. I have to go outside of my own country to get reasonable news coverage. They can all go to hell as far as I am concerned.
