What's your favorite Gary Coleman memory?
Gary Coleman was admitted to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, Utah on May 26th, 2010, after falling and hitting his head. He initially suffered an intracranial hemorrhage at his home in Spanish Fork, Utah, and was announced to be in critical condition. Within hours, Coleman was unconscious and on life support, dying at 12:05 p.m. MDT on May 28, 2010. (from Wikipedia)
My favorite: I met him at an arcade he ran in Los Angeles when I was a kid, maybe 15 years ago. I couldn't believe it was him, but at the same time, wasn't so much excited as confused. Can't really say why.

Seeing him as the mischievous guy with the huge smile on the tv show. Sad that this happened. His life took many wrong turns as did others in this cast. Makes a person wonder about getting fame at such a young age and not having good people to look out for them. He joins so many other young famous people now who had their lives cut short with accidents and self destruction. Very sad.

I felt sad when I heard the news just after midnight. It brought back a memory. I once spent a couple of hours with Gary Coleman, and I liked him.
My young friend Anna worked for him for a while a few years ago. He invited us both out to dinner one night. We went to a pleasant, non-pretentious very low key but elegant restaurant on the edge of Beverly Hills and sat by a night lit swimming pool and ate our gourmet dinner and talked. He was informal, yet gentlemanly, ate slowly, savoring the night, the food, the company. People splashed in the pool next to our table and he got a little wet and asked for a towel but seemed to enjoy the situation, chuckling as he dried himself off. I and my young friend drank wine but he could not due to his health problems; he did not seem to miss it at all and praised the food and the fine weather. I remember thinking that he had to be a life appreciator to praise the good weather in southern California where everyone is jaded enough to take it for granted. He was kind, easygoing and we laughed a lot. His humor was also kind, low key and a bit witty, something I did not expect from a sit-com laugh-gettter. He was not, hyped up on his own charisma as so many famous actors and performers are, "always on," and he seemed to feel no need to prove anything. Although he discussed a business conflict he'd had at one point, he seemed to have nothing bad to say about anyone. Even though I'd never met him, he went out of his way to make me feel at ease and did not in any way seem to want to display any privileges he might have assumed due to his celebrity. The waiter seemed to know him and like him. Obviously, I liked hm. I hope he liked me. I think he did. It is a good memory and I am glad, especially now, that I have it.
RIP, Gary. Thanks for a truly lovely evening. As I said before, I enjoyed meeting you.

My favorite on any of the sitcom episodes, and probably the line Gary is most remembered:
"Whatchu talkin' 'bout, Willis?"

In Hollywood looks are everything.
Gary Coleman rebuffed that...and Hollywood agreed.
We witnessed him as a cute little boy and watched him grow into a man finding his own way in the world.
Gary Coleman became a huge pop culture figure.
Think about it... most people know The Beatles, JFK, Ghandi, Olivia Newton John, Barack Obama, John Travolta, Robin Williams , MLK, Lady GAGA, and also ...Gary Coleman.
I am very grateful to the good people who work on shows like " The Simpsons" by including him and keeping him front and centre .
I even saw him do a bit on Penn & Teller's Bullsh*t.
Last night every News channel I tuned to from CNN to BBC... was talking about him.
Hollywood does have a heart.
Little Gary Coleman ..?
More like Larger than Life Gary Coleman ...his is defintely a part of our culture and..he was everyone's Little Brother.

I did enjoy his show and the character he played...R.I.P Gary.

The time he said, "your pen*s stinks." I felt like he was talking just to me, and not any of the other nine guys on hand.

I remember the episode with Mr. T where he had to put on a bald cap with an mohawk attached to it. You could see his hair lumped up under the bald cap.

Finding out that he lived in Utah. A lot of my family is from Utah Valley, and it amazed me that the one-time most popular guy in America was living in that neck of the woods.

I wonder why Gary Coleman, who passed away first, is AFTER Dennis Hopper who passed away the next day. What does the positioning imply?
