I would like to have one, but am scared of having one at the same time. I've heard tons of stories of people having them on their death beds before recovering, but I've also heard of people who train themselves to do it. I have always wanted to fly. I'm totally jealous of seagulls when I go to the beach. Imagine being able to soar on the wind! I kind of imagine it sort of like that and would like to experience it.

They don't really exist. You are still 100% in your body. One of the many delusions people like to believe in. Some poeple are just horrible at telling the difference between what is real and what is imagined. :)

When they first happened to me I was a kid and they were totally involuntary. It always occurred just as I was drifting off to sleep - that semi conscious state- then an electrifying sound/feeling began. The louder the sound became, the more I rose from my body. It was terrifying at first. I would shake myself awake because I didn't know what was happening. I was terribly afraid that "someone/thing" wanted to take over my body. One night a friend spent the night and it happened. I decided to let whatever was trying to happen... happen because there was someone there. I made it past the electrical LOUD buzzing noise and then I was lighter than air rising above myself. I didn't look down the first time but have experienced it many times since and I'm not afraid of it anymore. I can't make it happen... it just does. Those who say it's not real just haven't had the experience. It's real!!

well, 1) it's fun. 2) it's useful. 3) even if you don't remember, you do it every night while you're sleeping. :)

I've experienced them ~ usually involuntarily, particularly the first one. They may be delusional but they sure feel real! Many more people have had them than admit to them, I am sure. Best advice might be: remember you can be vulnerable in this state, so don't be gone too long.

I've never had one, which is kind of a bummer. Apparently they occur at times of extreme stress, or after taking certain "substances".

I've heard that many people are able to astral project in a dream state. Normally when this occurs you have extremely vivid dreams and they don't involve anything that you've "known." I don't know what to believe, but it seems very interesting.
