It's possible to quit drinking. But I think most people would agree that you can't quit for good without help.

I'm a recovering alcoholic.I've been clean for 8 years.Alcoholism is a disease just as cancer is.I will never be cured,I will die an alcohoic. All I can do is not drink TODAY.I attend at least 5 AA meetings a week.AA doesn't just help me stay sober,it helps me to live a happy sober life.If I kept up drinking and drugging I would be dead,in prison,or in a mental institution.
If anybody doubts that being an addict is a miserable life,I can tell you that sober is the way to live

It is a sad and almost incurable disease. My mother suffers from it. It has caused a great rift between us. Wonderful moments have been reduced to pitiable sessions of "celebration" that left her passed out on the floor, as well as terrible moments that have has her seek solace at the end of a bottle, resulting in the same result. Sadly, those who do not desire help will not accept it, or make use of it.

Its like being in hell. And when you wake up from being passed out its 3:00am and there is no were to buy a bottel. So you can Only sit And Wait while the DTs get stronger and the fear grows as you spiral into the night mare
