you're right. they can't legally own a firearm here in the U.S. the problem is, they can buy a firearm off the streets that the serial number has been removed. they don't intend to use it for self defense. most likely they will use it to commit another felony. I'm not sure how they should approach the problem of people owning firearms to those who legally can't own them. even if they do more extensive background checks, it won't solve the problem. one thing that could help lower the amount of illegal gun sales off the street is lock up gang members for life.
gang members have more firearms than the local police. anyway, I agree with not allowing those that promise no paperwork & no background checks to be stopped. it's bad enough that someone could purchase a firearm off the street. gun shows are cool, but, if there's a booth offering no background checks, they need to be shutdown. even selling a firearm privately needs to have more done to that. as of current, you can legally sell a firearm privately as long as you have a bill of sale, the name of the person buying the firearm. I don't agree with the way that is done. it would be better if a person is going to sell a firearm privately, they should be required to take it to a firearms dealer that can do the background check on the person wanting to purchase it. that would help curb some of the people that shouldn't have a firearm from getting one. anything that will help keep firearms out of the hands of someone with a felony record would be good
I guess the NRA didn't read the bill. I don't belong to the NRA, I'm just a private citizen that happens to own a firearm legally. that is really dumb if they don't back a bill that would put those booths out of business for not doing background checks, or making it mandatory for a private gun sale to be done at a licensed gun dealer that can do the background check on an individual that wants to purchase your firearm. maybe in a way it would be a big gun grab, keeping them out of the hands of felons that are not allowed to own firearms, not stop a citizen with no criminal record from owning a firearm legally.
I work with felons. I can tell you that the majority are good people that made bad decisions in their life due to a disease. They are not murderers, and most of them I would stand behind for protection before an idiot who stereotypes due to paper. I know alot of crooked cops too,.
You assume much, don't let my short shorts fool you "dawlin"
That is why I work 90 hrs a week, so I can make a difference.
Official tea party stance? There is not such a thing.
