When boiling eggs, how do you stop the yolk from going grey so you get a nice yellow inside ?

You need to make sure the eggs are very fresh....older eggs will go grey.....when you have boiled your eggs put them into cold water immediately.....then you should always have perfect yellow yolks....

for a perfectly boiled eg you only need to boil it for 3min

I always understood that the color of the yolk was determined by what the chicken ate. A 3 min egg will be soft-boiled, and an 8-min egg will be hard boiled, but I don't think you can control the color other than buying a different type of egg! Try free-range - in my experience they are generally yellower.

The secret is to not cook it too long or keep it on too high of a heat. In fact I hardly cook the eggs at all. I bring them to a boiling point and then immediatly turn off the heat and let them sit in hot water covered for 18 minutes- this boils the perfect egg.
