But, when being broken up with I used the ever popular "You'll never have anyone like me again". Ugh. I hate that I said that, as true as it may have been.

Not in those exact words, but I think it's very common to say "I'm in a weird place right now" or "It's not your fault" in a breakup. It would be kind of mean to just spill a huge list of what they did wrong.

Yeah -- because it is so true in most break ups. It's not them it's you who has changed and evolved and it is you who wants to end the relationship.

I used to. Just because you need to break up doesn't mean you want to hurt their feelings. It is a line of BS though.
