When convicted of a violent crime against a woman, should the sentence be harsher if the woman was pretty?
Funny how people think my question is inflammatory, when in fact I raise a serious issue about disparity in criminal justice. The truth is that pretty women receive lighter sentences, and convicted defendants receive harsher sentences when the victim is a pretty woman. Moreover, the news media routinely give greater attention to crimes that where the victim is either a pretty woman or a cute child. Likewise, those crimes get more intensely investigated by police.

This is psychology. Attractive people get lesser sentences and I suppose attractive victims invite harsher sentences.

How the victim looks should not have any bearing on it!
