Rhythm and Blues is music of a particular genre which is written from particlar moods and evokes particular moods. The same goes for most any kind of music. Rock 'n' Roll that was popular in the sixties changed each decade, but that doesn't mean you can't listen to it of the time period you prefer. It's just that each new generation brings with it new things to satisfy themselves--and that satisfaction continually changes, so that which is popular does as well,,, and that includes Rhythm and Blues. Nowadays you can hear anything you want at the touch of a button, unlike in decades past when we had to spend a lot to invest in hard copy collections to satisfy our tastes in changing times.

When real instruments and real musicians were discarded in favor of samples and DJ's.
