Sorry to tell you but you will never forget your first love. The love will fade and you and he will change but you won't forget the "firsts". But just know that if it didn't work out it wasnt ment to be. And just think of it as all the relationships in between your firsts and last are just stepping stones and learning opportunities. Good luck your probably gonna fall in and out of love a few more times so enjoy the ride. And good luck <3

Honestly I have forgotten my first love because he wasnt the "one" Time really does heal but you have to be the one to let it go before it heals. I have a reason to forget my first love but I understand what your asking. It's a terrible feeling for awhile. Try to associate yourself around another guy. Maybe a couple dates, your not ready for a new boyfriend quite yet but get accustomed to being around another male and your heart will change pretty quickly! Good luck hun! and Im here to talk!

The ridiculous yearning pain started to fade after about two years and then incrementally for another maybe decade...But the good memories began to be comforting after about one or two years. So eventually it balanced out. I have never stopped missing him but it just seems like a part of life after awhile...When I really needed him - existentially ...he came back to be with me for a short time.. and once in a while he calls and then I know he is okay. Generally, when I think of him I am just thankful for all the things he taught me and all that we shared. First love .. Overall it a blessing.

The pain goes away in about 2 new boyfriends and the memories last a life time.
