When Gun Control Advocates Say this.....

"I believe that it's far too easy for criminals and the mentally unstableto get firearms through legal channels, therefore something should be done to tighten gun regulations."

Do Gun advocates read it as, "I believe that we should take every gun away because I'm totally comfortable with living in a police state."

Or do they just pretend to?

It is apparent thta we have a imperial government which believes thta it can and should abolish all freedoms and subvert the constitution . It is their firm belief thta government can and should control every facet fo our lives. The gun control issue is just one of many paths they are taking to relieve us all of precious freedoms that we have all thus appreciated.
Every state, city and federal elected official has armed guards protecting themselves and their families. We as tax paying citizens have only a police force that cannot adequately control local crime and is never on the scene until after a crime has been committed.

And this was told to you by your fillings I assume? The patriot act did everythign you're accusing obama of and it was passed by a republican led congress to "protect us" you were probably huddled under plastic sheeting with a gas mask saying " DO ANYTHING JUST KEEP US SAFE!"

I just love to hear from a suicidal prone no nothing youngster who has never served her country in any capacity suggesting to me that I was huddled in fear under a plastic blanket. On the contrary , punk, at your age the only huddling I ever did was in a self dug foxhole ducking someone who wished to kill me.I still carry shrapnel in my body to this day from several wars. Self absorbed no nothings like you without any experience in life have a right to their opinions however, incorrect their assumptions may be. This is what we fought for but I don't have to respect you nor like your attitude. I can recall, so many young men with a strong love of country that were taken in the prime of their lives so that people like you can continue to bask in a society that allows you to spew your crap.

Haha I never understood that argument...you're already living in a police state..Regardless of how many guns and how much ammunition you have I'm fairly certain the army is better equipped and better trained.

If you think the US is a police state you do not know what "Police State" means. Do you have random checkpoints, National ID cards, Armed guards in every business, school, and public place? Random executions of civillians? Massive round ups of political dissidents? Severe curtailing of freedoms? no? Then it's not a police state.

Gun advocates have a problem with the government being the ones that define mentally unstable. Just look around and see the number of individuals taking meds for depression (a family member recently died, lost job, divorce, child with cancer), anxiety, and even children taking meds for ADD. Will these individuals be denied the right to bear arms, even if they took meds for only a month or two?
Currently the law denies only individuals that have been hospitalized, but it appears this can change.

generally psychologists define who's mentally unstable and those suffering from ADD, Depression, and anxiety aren't unstable usually. If you're schizophrenic, have anger problems, and are suicidal you probably shouldn't own a gun. I can't see the ruling about people who were hospitalized not owning a gun expanding to ANYONE with mental illness, that would encompass almost a third of the country. As well as being totally heavy handed and a waste of resources.

Being a waste of resources has not stopped the government in the pass or presence. Just take a look at government agencies that duplicate each other.

I was hospitalized for a suicide attempt, do you have any idea what you can't bring into the ward? CDs, DVDs, metal items, SHOES, twine, rope, SOAP, SHAVING CREAM, TOOTHPASTE, aluminum cans, picture frames, ANY medication, mascara, lighters, tools, knives, canes....I could go on, but my point is that you can kill someone (or yourself) with just about anything given you have time, the effort, and the will. But a Gun takes half a second and a couple pounds of pressure to end a life. Kids get cigarettes and alcohol for the first time from their parents usually, lately LEGAL gun owners being killed and having their guns STOLEN by family members seems to be the thing to do. So clearly just regulating who can buy them is not the only solution. You must regulate the tools as well.

you are not an unbiased person. I am fully aware of what happens in the wards. The point is that again per year .002 % of the population is murdered by some turd with a gun. that means that 99.998 % of the population is safe. You really believe that its logical to ***** away the rights of 100 % of Americans for .002 % of a problem? its NOT logical and its not sane. its insanity. 2 thousands or a percent. that is a tolerance that is just acceptable.

I don't mind people in favor of gun control - guns do need to be regulated. I just think the people who think we should have no guns at all are fanatics.
