Well, if you love them unconditionally, how do you stop loving them? Sorry to apply logic to an emotional situation, but unconditional love is just that -- unconditional.

It is never unacceptable but you can love your child and not rescue them. Love doesn't mean enabling them to do negative behaviors and it doesn't mean you approve of everything they do. My kids have broken my heart at one time or another, yet I have never stopped loving them. Conditional love says: "I love you if" "I love you because" Unconditional love says: "I love you.."

I don't think there really is unconditional love everything has conditions, they are not just readily apparent. I wouldn't quit loving my son for just any reason, but there are things he could do.

If he showed an utter disregard for life and started killing people, or raping people (especially children) That would be it for me.

Maybe that makes me cold- but i cant see it any other way.

NEVER....you don't have to love their actions, their choices, etc...but, you must not ever stop loving them.

KIDS do some very rotten and nasty thing to hurt you but when it comes down to it you still have to love them. god loves us no mater what we do to him and he forgives us so you should forgive them for what they do to you no matter what.

never never you don't have to like them but love is a bond between your souls. No madder what happens in your life that would make you hate them the bond will always be there and that is something you can't hide from

Loving unconditionally does not mean liking what they do. You can be disappointed or worse in their behaviour and yet still love them.

If they treat you very badly it may be very hard to continue loving them . . .

If you stop loving them unconditionally, then you are loving them CONDITIONALLY. No parent should do that. You might not like what they do or who they are...but to stop loving your own flesh and blood? Something is wrong there...and they were raised by YOU, no? The matter may need professional counseling, if thoughts like this are going through your mind.
