    by law it means it has to be guaranteed if it says it is, buuuuut if you purchase an item that has a guarantee from a dodgy little shop or the likes, well who knows, they may or may not have a guarantee

    another way to put it is, big corporations have to give guarantees, smaller corporations and one off shops have to say they do, but alot of the time they won't hold up their side of the guarantee
