Water is a sign of life. When they look for life on other planets, they also look for water.

They're not thinking of bringing the water here. They're looking at which planets might be able to sustain life. Desalinization, btw, is not yet cost effective.

Smart girl...we are not there yet. In the middle east where fresh water is not readily available, they do have desalination plants to provide drinking water. Despite the hype you hear in the news we are still ok (modernized countries). Africa seems to be the only continent suffering due to lack of resources (money) to build desalination plants. If push came to shove it is easy for modern countries to build these. I suspect the powers that be turn a blind eye to the Africa problem....

We're not searching planets for water for people to drink, lmao!

We're searching because liquid water is a sign of life.

Finding life on other planets (water) could be like finding new cures for things that are in the rain frost.

Desalination still requires a vast amount of energy to get to fresh water. We search other planets because they are out there. Water means life. Life means we aren't alone.

Here my basic understanding is when we search for life in other planets, it takes trillion or billion tons of money but saving our planet by worthy, innovative technologies will not cost more than this. IF We use War Robots in the frontiers or boundaries, every country will save crores of money. Like that there are very useful areas in which we can research. Possibly the space research is worth, if we consider making space colonies rather than going to a planet because there lies more dangers than in the vast ocean of space in which we have unlimited area to settle.

We always need to search for more and not only stick to one thing
