When someone tells a joke of a different race, why does the attention focus on the reaction of someone from that race?
When you're watching a comedy show on tv and a comedian makes a joke about someone of another race, why is the audience reaction focused on an audience member of that race the joke was made about? If a white guy makes a joke about chinese people, why is the camera focused on an asian person in the audience- they may not even be chinese? Do they have to get the joke?

Because they are trying to be funny, make you laugh, or they racists. I use to know some good Polish jokes, but I can't remember them. I use to tell them to all my Polish friends, as they were driving the nails into my hands and feet, while exchanging Christians jokes. Don't worry, I'm okay, and since I'm of all faiths, and no longer Catholic, they don't try to nail me to the cross. Actually, it was mostly my jewish friens that like to pull that little joke. I thought it was funny, but I see your point. Yes, racist jokes are not a good idea.

To try and prove that the joke isn't objectionable. Make a joke about blacks, show a black laughing at it, then it must be an okay joke-- right? It's a way to head of PC complainers.

Because they anticipate fireworks to happen as a reaction and everyone waits for what seems like eternity for said reaction.
