I gave them 30p to get in a toilet at the train station. They looked desperate and didn't have any change. I had enough for the two of us.

While having supper one night at a restaurant I glanced over and saw a shabby dressed man eating a bowl of soup. While paying my bill I asked the cashier if she would let me pay for his meal too. I wanted to do more but didn't want to offend him. Drove away thinking there must be more people can do for others, if only....

I was in the parking lot at work, and their car had broken down. They were trying to jump the car. The woman looked like a derelict...she had no teeth...and she was trying to get money from passersby for gas because once they got their jump, they didn't have enough gas to get home. No one would give her any money (probably thought she would go and drink it)...but I gave her the money she needed.

I helped up an older man who had fallen to the floor. He had been washing the windows in a bagel shop I was in and seemed very tired from the work. He went to a chair to sit down for a rest. The next thing I knew he was down on the floor. He wasn't hurt, just a bit embarrassed. I extended my hand and helped him up, then got him seated in the chair. Once he was okay, I went to use the restroom. When I came back, he was gone.

Oh yeah, and leaving the place I gave a homeless woman a dollar.

This was about a week ago.
