When was the last time you were offended in real life? What did you do?

I don't get offended, people can say what they like about me. I am, however, occasionally appalled.

Well that would have been my step-dad, I did the only thing I could do, just walk away.

2 weeks ago, I said good luck and went to my room, then I started crying

When my roommate threw a **** fit because I drank one of her beers, thereby prohibiting her from getting pass-out drunk by 10:00pm.

Same goes for me DavidAtl...after time, you become desensitized to that crapola. Can't remember the last time I was offended because I too, ignore it.

Today I got offended by some a**hole in a green Jetta was behind me when merging on to a highway. Our lane was ending and he decided to pass me in the lane I was merging into causing me to have to drive on the shoulder.

This may seem like a petty gripe, but I get very offended by poor drivers. I have my two babies in the car!

about two weeks ago, my daughter accused me of something and told her dad. I can't defend myself until she 18. SHe has her stories so screw-up and I get the blunt of it all. IT really hurts and ******* ****** me off!

Offended? Hmmm...plenty of cases to be offended. As a burn victim, not to mention a very contradictory person, plenty of people find me offensive. Thus begins a few battles a week.

Most recently....I had someone insult the story I shared about the fire that caused my scars in the high school news paper. Last edition of the news paper, it was my senior year, about six or seven months back. Someone stopped me in the hall to say I was full of ****. Offended? Most certainly. I poured my heart into writing the letter that was used and accidentally caused the editor to cry. The silly pissant declared for everyone to nearby to hear, that my story was an exaggeration of the facts and there was no conceivable way for me to be alive if what I said had taken place.

I am not a very outwardly angry person. I can store a lot of anger to be vented after the fact. This poor person basically took that and blew it all to hell because my response was a fist in the face and a few cold words. I let it be known that I do not tolerate the disparging remarks made about my past. I may realize it is not as bad as some people's, but I also realize that what it means to me is enough to give me the right to defend it.

I read an article somewhere that said there was a "spirit" of offence... something to the effect that it liked to cause people to be offended and cause problems in the world. Made a lot of sense to me, because it seems so many relationships/friendships are ruined these days in this way... and so many hard feelings could be avoided if people would just refuse to "take offence"...

That said... I took offence myself just today to one of "those" email forwards; I really didn't expect something so crass from this person, and was so disappointed. Sigh.

Some dude at work was harassing me, and sending me emails, even when i told him I was engaged to be married. He blatantly said that "oh so he doesnt stand a chance with me" Eventually i had to ignore him. He carried on, to the point where i layed a charge of harassement with our Companies HR manager. There was a hearing and it turned out he was harassing two other work females as well. I learnt at the hearing that he had a girlfriend and a 3month old baby at home! he was dismissed within a month. found guilty. But what angered me more was this guy had previously worked for my company and had been found guilty of the same charge as before!! yet they hired him a 2nd time!
