When you read things, does a voice in your head do the reading? Does the voice and accent ever change?

Usually when I'm reading general things than I would hear my voice, but I have my moments where I just feel the need to change the voice to get it in tune to what i'm reading sometimes.. haha

It is always my voice. The accent never changes.

Interesting Q. I never think about that.
After all these years, I think I still kinda subvocalize, but at least my lips don't move. I suppose it's always my own voice and accent.Like (1)

This is GREAT question....wish I'd have thought of it!
I try, constantly, to NOT hear that 'voice' when I'm reading!! and it's very hard to do, so perhaps I should just give in to it!!!!!!!!
As for accents, etc., that never happens; just the same darn 'voice' no matter what I'm reading....
If anyone out there can tell me how to STOP hearing this voice, PLEASE let me know...it's no big deal, really, but I'm just curious to see what others think!!!!!!!!Like (1)

The accent and voice changes depending on the gender and homeland of the author.
