Haha.. When I was about 7, I dressed up as Dolly Parton.
It all started when I found a huge bra at a thrift shop. It was like a size F or something. We got a blonde wig, red sequined dress, lots of make-up and of course the bra stuffed to capacity!
The best part was.. My elementary school was within walking distance. So that Halloween after school, my little 7 year old self..strutted home in my Dolly Parton get up. I remember cars honking and people laughing a lot :o)

a witch pretty much every year, but in Australia if you knocked on some peoples doors they would say "go away, thats for Americans' and some didnt even know that it was Halloween that day.

One very sad Halloween, in my tween years, before I understood my lack of creative ingenuity, I decided I wanted to make my own costume.
A lamp.
I put a lampshade over my head and went as a lamp.
*sigh*
And thus began my trials and tribulations as a teenager.

I tried to go as a ghost one memorable year. But somehow I ended up with about 15 holes in my sheet instead of just two. :)
