When you were young, did your mother ever make you wear something that absolutely humiliated you? What was it, and why?

I'm sure she did but this question brought up another memory for me. Halloween when I was eleven. A distant cousin was babysitting for my first cousins and taking them to a Halloween carnival at her high school. I wasn't supposed to be there but got in some trouble and ended up getting dropped off there too. I didn't have a costume and needed one to get into the carnival. The babysitter and her friends dressed me up in her old girl scout uniform and a wig. I was embarrassed and didn't want to go through with it. She told me being in another town, no one I knew was going to see me. So they dragged me along and of course a girl from my class ended up being there. She had an aunt who taught at the school. Anyway she was jubilant when she realized it was me dressed up like a girl. I was humiliated.

All my clothes were homemade. My grandma was a dress maker and my mom was a good seamstress. I always wanted "store bought" clothes. But then in 6th grade I was talking to my friend and she said..."I always thought you were so lucky to have such beautiful dresses that were homemade, better than mine". So I never felt bad about them again...clear into high school.

My mom would curl my hair and make me wear a dress for every elementary school picture I've taken. I hated it so bad cause I always wanted to wear my cool T-shirts and my classmates would call me "Poodle"

yes, She made me wear a pair of blue cat eyed shaped glasses. I broke one side and thought I would not have to wear them. She made me wear them anyway. Now they are in style. I wear some funny looking reading glasses that I like to wear. I do not care who like them. She also made me wear a long straight blue skirt, she said i was too fat to wear a flare skirt like my sister. She made me wear a bright pink dress with a high collar, I felt like a pink pig. Now I wear what I like. I think those moments made me a stronger person. When I want to wear something that is not the latest style I do not care who like my outfit. I wear clothes for me.

Pigtail braids. Laura Ingalls style.
I don't know why I was so humiliated. I was just a very fashion-conscious kindergartener, and when my mother offered to style my hair that was so not what I had in mind. I broke down in tears when I looked in the mirror and sobbed, "It's uglyyyyyy."
It's one of those memories we laugh at now, haha.Like (1)

On my tenth year of summer vacation from school I woke up and had peed the bed. My mom made me go outside with my pissy underwear around my neck.
