    From looking through the Time & Newsweek magazines from past centuries that a person i know has in his collection, i'd say yes, they certainly were more adventurous.

    I think that in previous cultures people were encouraged to be more advernterous and to take it as a sign of reaching maturity and becing an adult. Now a days epopel are afraid of their own shadow.
