being alone probably both.

Christmas is by far more irritating because I get bombarded with it months in advance and then attacked with constant Christmas music.
I don't so much hate it as I just get really sick and tired of it.

I don't "hate" Christmas day, it's the way people act in the days before. Like Christmas and most other holidays isn't on the same freaking date every year of our lives.
I hate that certain impending holidays make people act like freaking idiots over nothing.

Christmas day, I detest all occasions of enforced joy but Christmas especially irritates me. The commercialism, the pagan roots that aren't known about by many and then are not acknowledged by those that are aware and would rather stick to a man-made story about it's origin from the bible. The stress everyone endures - rushing for presents, worrying about where to go/who to invite over, buying food as if it were the last ever opportunity to do so, burdening themselves with debt. Because we are mostly all indoctrinated with this bizarre ritual from childhood, we cannot help but have these fuzzy warm feelings about christmas and as we age we tend to lose people to death. Christmas time can be very tough as the entire world seems intent on forcing you to dwell on things that you may prefer not to.

Christmas by far. Valentine's day is only really emphasized for about a week vs Christmas which has slowly taken over Nov. and Dec. V-day is also easy to ignore while christmas carols, bright decorative lights and fat men in red suits are not.
