Which is British English and which is American (Full-stop and period)? I used to say full-stop Cont..

But it seems to confuse Americans LOL now I am surprised because most of my English is American English, I have also heard British people saying period before. Is it just mixed and both are used everywhere?

Is This A Good Question? (2)

LOL That's why Americans look with confusion if I say fullstop, I still think you should be able to know that it has two names, if I know, you should know! O.o

I refer to it as a full-stop when discussing poetry, as that is the effect a period has. :P

In Australia we only say "full stop"; "period" is well-known as American English but has never been used here in that sense.
