To love..."being loved" too often becomes problematic when the person doesn't follow our script exactly. We form expectations and when they don't deliver, we get upset. Real love should be unconditional without any "hooks"

To love....it is one of the greatest gifts you can bestow on another. It's a selfless act to love and expect nothing in return. To receive love, you must be willing to give...it is always a two way street.

To be truly free to express unconditional love would make you a very complete individual...
And any in the rarefied presence of such an individual would no doubt feel it...
Such people are very easy to love...

To love, for that is in your power.
Or as Christ said, it is the greatest commandment,
"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22

I think the two should come together, and none is more important, if you had just one it will become a pain not something good whether you are loving or being loved!I it is just painful to love someone who doesn't make you feel loved, or to feel loved by someone who you do not really love!

Both are important. To be loved is the goal of our existence and what we are for ever striving for. To love is a truly blessed activity and will often cause one to be loved in return. It is more blessed to give love than to receive it.
