Let's see:

Fire - having extreme pain, probably no different from second death or everlasting destruction

Drowning - inhaling excess water inside your body

Freezing - no different from suffocating, passing out

Starving - feeling dry and desperate

I would say that fire is the worst way to die.

Getting knocked off a boat .... While fighting a shipboard fire... Sailing Solo.... In the frigid waters South of Cape Horn or Hope... After not eating for several days....
Death by firing squad but they don't use bullets, instead they use diarrhea.

Starving.

The others are relatively quick. Not only would dying of starvation take days or weeks, it would mean that you were all alone inthe world, no help at all. Dying cold and alone, the misery compounding for what seems like years. You would have to be continuously shunned from all forms of kindness. Starving would be the worst.

Fire in my opinion. Even though its quick, it FEELS like forever because of how much pain your in. Have you ever burnt yourself on a stove, or burnt yourself at all? Remember how much it stung afterwards, and for AWHILE too? Imagine that feeling ALL OVER your body. Imagine your skin literally peeling and burning and melting off of your body. ITS PURE PAIN BEING BURNED IN A FIRE.

Fire.

With drowning you first flail your arms around trying to get attention, as you get worn out and start to take in water, the body comes more serene and you'll lose consciousness.

With starvation, you'll get extremely hungry and fall into a coma before drying.

Freezing would also send you into a coma though you would go through pain as your extremities suffered from frostbite.

Now, with fire, you know how much a small burn hurts, imagine that all over your body as your skin heats up, blisters and peels. Only when the burn is at the third degree stage will it stop hurting as much, because all your nerve fibers will be burned and you'll not feel anything.

I think that even worse would be being crushed to death, lying on your side. Just imagine as something heavy slowly comes down on you, first your shoulders would break and be compressed followed by your rib cage, you would probably either bleed out or have an internal organ burst open before it gets to your skull and slowly pops it open.

which of those is more fearful to you? which ever it it would be the worst. it is said that drowning is relaxing if you just give up. fire doesn't always kill you so you could be a giant pile of burnt ash that can only feel pain in which you will die of that eventually. who knows for sure if you can die from freezing to death? it has never been proven that you actually die and stay dead from freezing. starving will take a long time in which you will be attacked mentally, i say that because you will start out strong but over time will start to loose strength and speed until you loose all muscle and are unable to move if you survive long enough to get that far.
