Not all black snakes are deadly, either. Out west, there is a large black snake that is called the Rat Snake, and it is not poisonous.

Both. In Africa the Black Mamba (and everywhere) around the world is the most venomous snake ever. Then there is the Green Mamba also venomous. And then there is the Boomslang. Also green and also venomous. If one bites you, you will bleed to death.

The green one is at least naturally camo'd (or not; green is just a threatening color so it scares off predators), so naturally the black one probably has another evolutionary advantage--deadly poison--to rectify its otherwise impractical color. *Shrugs*

Why couldn't black be considered camouflage when the snake is in dirt or on the trunk of a tree? lol

The very deadliest snakes are the purple ones with green stripes and two orange dots on the head. If you see one of them, run like hell. :)

snakes are great they eat bugs most are harmless people just kill em cause have fear. in ma don t know if any one has ever been killed dought it from snake. live and let them live! if don t like em just don t touch em stay a way
