Highway To HELL - AC/DC
I guess this is true..
Love Will Tear us Apart - Joy Division
Nice pick. All their stuff is somewhere between upbeat and wrist slitting. Amazing band.
That song was stuck in my head all day yesterday!
"Into The Ocean" by Blue October has an upbeat sound despite having depressing lyrics.
Think I'm Going to Kill Myself by Elton John.
Tracks of my tears - Smokey Robinson
Well at least you're not alone eh? :D haha
"The Star-Spangled Banner"<br />
It's about war!
It's about surviving war. Outlasting a siege against the odds. It is triumphant and proud. There is nothing depressing about that.
War is depressing. It is not a happy song, tho it sounds like one. Why couldn't the National Anthem be about something positive?
Like Jean said, it is something positive, it's about surviving against oppressors, it's inspirational.
"Alone Again... Naturally" by Gilbert O'Sullivan. A happy, jaunty song, about a guy contemplating suicide because his fiancee dumped him at the altar.
You beat me to it. It is also about all the losses he has had with this being the last straw.
Early birds and worms- lol- I had a couple of others, but again, they had been already posted ! Thanks for the like- and the message - mark xx
Hollywood Undead - Bullet<br />
Probably the most depressing song that has the most upbeat lyrics, its really confusing lol.
oh no... You beat me to it! I love that song! Dang.
I think it's good with upbeat song that have sad lyrics, because many don't listen to the lyrics.
Skyscraper by Demi Lovato
Don McLeans -- American Pie.
"We Are Young" by Fun.<br />
Here's some lyrics:<br />
My seat’s been taken by some sunglasses asking 'bout a scar, and<br />
I know I gave it to you months ago<br />
I know you’re trying to forget<br />
But between the drinks and subtle things<br />
The holes in my apologies, you know<br />
I’m trying hard to take it back
"Bad Moon Rising" by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Alors on Danse! It makes you want to dance but the song is about how we all pretend to be happy and party to escape our sorrows.
Buffalo Soldier by Bob Marley. The struggle of black soldiers in the Civil War.<br />
Marley always makes me happy when I hear his songs and melodies. But in almost every song there is sadness, struggle for human rights, unfairness and hate from whites to black populations, oppression and humility.<br />
But then there are songs like.. don't worry, about a ting...cos every little ting gonna be alright!!! And that keeps me going. ... Jha and Shanti to all!
That Kesha song about dying young. It depresses me because it sucks.
Born in the USA
"We are never, ever, ever...getting back together!" - Taylor Swift (Lol!!!)
Most of Lil Wayne's songs are catchy but the lyrics are deplorable.
bullet by hollywood undead :p
