Which topic would be most interesting for a psychology research project? Please read details!
I'm supposed to gather about 3 ideas for a research project in my research methods for psychology class, and my mind is going blank... I'm thinking about something relating to shyness, friendship formation, or music and how it relates to the mind/behavior/emotions... What kinds of basic questions could I ask about these things to form a solid research project idea? Other topic suggestions are welcome, too. Thanks!

You may have stumbled onto a real project. So many of the mass shootings have been blamed on music, rejection, drugs, friendship, guns, electronic games, and how all these and other things fit together. This would be immense, so try linking a few in various chapters and then summarizing. Good luck.

Using one of your examples: shyness studies traditionally revolve around shyness in children so first you have to pick your group parameter to research (say shyness in teenage girls in a particular situation) then how you intend to measure the "type" of shyness; then your definition of shyness (usually defined as diffidence or sometimes related to fear). Perhaps measuring extroversion v. introversion; social fitness v. social anxiety, etc. Good luck.

Misomania. An obsession with hating a particular subject or group. I have been seeing some of that on here.

This site is an incredible example of a psychological research project. Here's one example of something you could do: "Why do people feel much more comfortable sharing their inner private selves anonymously on EP with strangers, or in other venues, rather than with those they feel closest to in the real world?"

Bestseller books have already been written on topics that you suggest. Better try something else.
